Don't be attracted by the SALE

Sale is an occasion when a shop or store sells its goods at a lower price than usual. Most of people think that buy the things they want at this time is a good act because they no need to pay a lot of money. However, there are some people who buy the things which are not necessary at this time too. It's because the things are CHEAP! But let me tell you, this act will make you have a habit of buy more, more and more than before, and it will make you lose a lot of money.

If you saw a shopping mall which have a big SALE, try to don't go into it or you will be attracted by the sale and spend a lot of  money at that time. You can buy something, but not many things. The things which you can buy are the basic needs in our life, such as food, drinks, clothes and so on. Besides, you can also buy the things which are useful in our life, for example detergent, chairs, pot and so on (make sure they are finished or broken).

Anyway, remember the words "STOP SHOPPING. START LIVING"!

Shopping = Killing

Look at the picture above.
What can you deduce from this picture?
I know it's a bag.
I know it's a pink bag.
I know it's a lovely pink bag.

Let me tell you the important point that I want to mention, it is a bag made of CROCODILE'S SKIN!

Crocodile is one of the reptile which has cold blood, scales and climb on the ground by using four legs. When I was young, I ever went to a crocodile farm. he first impression when I saw the crocodile is YUCKSSS! They climb on swampy ground or swim in murky water. I think it is normal for all of you too, especially the girls like me. However, as the girls grow up, they like to buy the clothes, bags, shoes and so on which are made of the animals' skins. Why are they buying the things made of the skin of animals which makes them feel disgusting? WHY?

Do you know that? Once you bought a thing which made from animal, it mean that you killed an animal. Buy 1 kill 1. Buy 2 kill 2. If you bought 10 of them,  that means you killed 10 animals. Then you will become a very gruesome murder.

So, stop shopping or stop buying the things which made of animals. You can buy the bag as the picture below. Useful and cheaper! :)

Can Creativity Stop Shopping?

Creative is the use of skill and the imagination to produce something new or a work of art. A person who is very creative can create many useful things, for example Steve Jobs. However, a person who is not very creative is hard to create something new.

“Creativity and originality are more important than technical skill”. I got this sentence from my dictionary and I am very agree with it. A person who masters in technical skill only can only do the same thing everyday. It’s because they are not creative enough to think what to do other than that. Nevertheless, a person who is very creative can create something new and their life will not be so bored.

Here’s a question. Is creativity related with ‘stop shopping’? YES!

From what I’ve told you just now, Steve Jobs is a creative man. Now, I would like to talk about him to stop you from shopping by using your own creativity. All of you know I-pod, I-phone and I-pad, right? Do you know who the inventor was? STEVE JOBS! So, what are the prices of those thing invented by him are? Above RM100 or even RM1000! Is it expensive? Yes, it is quite expensive for me as a student now. I bet most of you have it. Before you bought it, you went to shopping centre, shopped for few minutes or hours, saw an Apple Store, went into it and looked the products, bought it after considering about it. Are these actions considered as SHOPPING? Yes!

            How can creativity stop shopping?

  • Don’t have enough time to go out - Let me give you an example. Thomas Edison was a person who created bulb successfully. Before he created it successfully, he spent most of his time to try, try and try to make the bulb light up until he neglected his wife. If there was many shopping malls that time, do you think will Thomas Edison go for shopping since he haven’t create the bulb successfully?

  • They have it - Now, I would talk about Steve Jobs. Since Steve Jobs created many things which cost a king’s ransom, do you think Steve Jobs will go to the store and spend his money to buy his own product?

Well, as a conclusion, we can see that creativity can stop shopping. Start using your creativity to create something new now! Good Luck!

Do not buy LUXURY

Luxury is a thing that is very expensive and enjoyable but is is not essential in our life, particularly food, drinks, clothes and house. I am sure that most of you like it but cannot effort it. Since the luxuries are not essential in our life, so I don't encourage all of you to buy it.

One of the reason is it may make us LACK OF MONEY. Whether you are rich or extremely rich, please don't buy luxuries.Think about the poors and compare them with you. It  is better to donate some money for them then buy the luxuries. Be KIND please!

There is many luxuries now, for example bags with famous brand, high-class restaurant, mobile phone with many functions. All of these are very expensive for me. Don't you think so, too? I know these things are quite necessary for the rich guys/girls due to the questions of their reputation. I can understand this and I can accept it because reputation is very important for some businessmen/businesswomen. However, I can't accept the people who buy luxuries just for SHOW OFF! Will you get any benefits if you show off? Gain reputation? Hey! If this action can gain reputation, I rather to SHOW OFF MY KINDNESS by donating some of my money to the poors.

Luxury is not a basic need in our life, and it can be more expensive than the basic needs for 10 or even 1000 times. So, DO NOT BUY LUXURY!!!

10 Stop Shopping Tips

For all the shopaholics, here is some tips for you to stop shopping!

1. Go shopping only when you need something. Go with a list of what you need and stick to it.
2. To minimize impulse buying, leave your credit card at home. If you’re willing to pay cash for an item, it’s generally something that you really love or need.
3. If you see something you really want, walk away from it. Go to a different store, get a drink, or use the restroom. If you really want or need that item, it will be worth the walk back.
4. Before you buy any organizing product, ask yourself if you could just eliminate or minimize the things you were planning to organize.
5. Don’t buy something just because it is on sale. Buy it because you either need it or love it.
6. Buy clothes in coordinating shades. You’ll need fewer shoes and accessories to go with your outfits if you stick to the basics. You can plan your wardrobe around two or three basic colors for each season. Not only does it make daily dressing easier, but packing for a trip is simpler because you aren’t tempted to pack things that don’t mix or match.
7. Purchase only items to replace things that are worn out.
8. Think twice about buying souvenirs. Take photographs or keep a journal instead.
9. Don’t buy something if you already have something that can do the same job.
10. Remember that the very best things in life are free. Instead of spending money on stuff you won’t use or need a year from now, spend time with a friend or family member or with a good book.

Buy Nothing Day

Buy Nothing Day (BND) is an international day of protest against consumerism observed by social activists. Typically celebrated the Friday after American Thanksgiving in North America and the following day internationally, in 2011 the dates are November 25 and 26 respectively. It was founded in Vancouver by artist Ted Dave and subsequently promoted by Adbusters magazine, based in Canada.

The first Buy Nothing Day was organized in Mexico in September 1992 "as a day for society to examine the issue of over-consumption." In 1997, it was moved to the Friday after American Thanksgiving, also called "Black Friday", which is one of the ten busiest shopping days in the United States. Outside North America and Israel, Buy Nothing Day is the following Saturday. Adbusters was denied advertising time by almost all major television networks except for CNN, which was the only one to air their ads. Soon, campaigns started appearing in the United States, the United Kingdom, Israel, Austria, Germany, New Zealand, Japan, the Netherlands, France, and Norway. Participation now includes more than 65 nations.

Buy Nothing Day has recently been modified by Adbusters and renamed Occupy Xmas. Buy Nothing Day was first joined with Adbuster's Buy Nothing Christmas campaign. Shortly there after, Lauren Bercovitch, the production manager at Adbusters Media Foundation publicly embraced the principles of Occupy Christmas telling The Fulcrum.

"...something as simple as buying locally—going out and putting money into your local economy—or making your Christmas presents" - An interview with Lauren Bercovitch.

Previously, the central message of Occupy X-mas and Occupy Christmas differed in that Occupy X-Mas called for a "buy nothing Christmas" and Occupy Christmas called for support of local economy, artists and craftspeople in holiday shopping. The union of these ideologies calls for a Buy Nothing Day to kick off a season of supporting local economy and family.

"Being ecologically aware, socially aware, culturally aware, environmentally aware … I think that’s going to continue whether or not it’s called Occupy Christmas or Buy Nothing Christmas"- An interview with Lauren Bercovitch.

Besides, the one who always say this is the one who always waste their money to buy many thing which are useless. So UNWORTHY!!! :(

If you really need to buy something which are necessary, I suggest you to go to 'Kedai Rakyat 1 Malaysia'. This shop has a lot of basic needs of our life and most of them are at quite a low price!

My conclusion: For those who love to shopping, 'Kedai Rakyat 1 Malaysia' is one of your choice because the things are cheaper and worthful! 1 Malaysia!!!

Compulsive Shopping

People fit into place in uncontrollable buying or expenditure on occasion, for the most part at Christmastime when they search out caught up in the enthusiasm or heaviness of buying. While most populace maintains their spending beneath control, some might develop a additional serious problem. They buy far additional than they could do with and most of it they will never use. It from time to time results in thousands of euros of debt. This is called oniomania or obsessive shopping.

In a the social order that thrives on acquisitiveness, compulsive shopping is habitually overlooked as a predicament and possibly will even be treated as a joke. Obsessive shoppers are over and over again dismissed as being monetarily irresponsible. However obsessive shopping can be devastating not only economically, but also psychologically and emotionally.

Most psychological health professionals do not regard as compulsive shopping dependence because there is no corporeal dependence as with drugs or alcohol, but oniomaniacs do demonstrate addictive behaviour. High percentages of shopaholics are addicts or former addicts of other substances or behavior including drugs and alcohol. Oniomania can have an effect on either sex but the enormous majority of obsessive shoppers are adult females. There have been few studies done on obsessive shopping, but those that have been done point toward that as much as 10% of the fully developed inhabitants put on give you an idea about tendencies towards compulsive shopping.

According to Catalano and Sonenberg (1993) (uncontrollable Passions: Help for Compulsive Shoppers, New Harbinger Publications, and California) a enormous quantity of liveliness, both physical and psychic is exhausted by uncontrollable shoppers that could be channeled into a supplementary fulfilling and worthwhile pursuit. "The real energy expenditure for compulsive shoppers comes in stipulations of worry. Planning shopping household tasks strength is fun, but facing the music subsequent to a shopping binge is expressively draining. Facing annoyed creditors is fear-provoking; facing your own deteriorating bankbook or annoyed spouse is humiliating. When shopping behavior involve lying with reference to and hiding purchases, the mental, physical, and touching toll goes up."

A most important sign of uncontrollable shopping is the predisposition to shop and waste large amounts of money for the duration of times of depression or poignant distress. Buying unwarranted amounts of items that never obtain used or worn, particularly if they already acquire these items at home is an suggestion of uncontrollable shopping. Uncontrollable shoppers often have wardrobes full of clothing that they have never worn. Unused items are frequently disposed of, every now and then in the original packaging or with the tags still emotionally concerned. Lying about shopping or the quantity of money spent, or running up large recognition card debts usually point to a problem with shopping.

Excessive shopping possibly will lead to serious monetary problems and may interfere with work and relations. Behavior of compulsive shopping may be more intricate than treating a physical dependence, like drug or alcohol abuse, for the reason that shopping is not impressive that can be avoided altogether. Management of uncontrollable shopping is similar to that of compulsive overeating in that the blueprint of compulsive behavior be required to be addressed in order to obtain the shopping to a normal, healthy level.

No Money, No Shopping, No stress!

MONEY is a basic for SHOPPING.

Nowadays, the people are working day and night to get more money.
Nowadays, the parents send their children to university/college so that they will get high paid when they work.
Nowadays, the people are trying hard to done their works so that they will not be expelled.
Nowadays, the people are asking "How much is the paid?" before they get the jobs.
Nowadays, the people hire a housemaid to take care of the house and children because they are busy to work.

Why are they do so?
It's all about MONEY.

What can money do?
To buy the things they want.

And this is related to SHOPPING!

Why don't the people relax and don't be too stress about the works just because of buying the things they want? Dear all of you, remember "No money, no shopping, no stress"! Keep this sentence in mind, so you'll not be so stress.

If there is something you want but you can't afford it, just try to forget about it. You will not look at/think about the things you want when you have not enough money to feed yourself and your family.

The meaning of SHOPPING

Shopping is the examining of goods or services from retailers with the intent to purchase at that time. Shopping is an activity of selection and/or purchase. In some contexts it is considered a leisure activity as well as an economic one.

The process of browsing and/or purchasing items in exchange for money.

The act of a person who shops
In my opinion, SHOPPING is a activity that a person spend his/her leisure time to go to the shops/store to look for or buy something which is useful or useless.
